Hey friends!

I’m Alison, owner and painter at Apoli Art. Since 2019 I’ve been reconnecting with my love of art and discovering all the fascinating places it can lead me.

Though I originally went to school for creative advertising in hopes of becoming an art director, my career took a different turn. I found myself working in corporate advertising for 12 years, while raising 3 kids, which didn’t lend much time for the painting and drawing I loved to do. 

When my family and I moved from Toronto to Burlington in 2018, I made the decision to leave the corporate world and become a stay at home mom. And from that burst of extra time at home came my rediscovery of my love for art.

From my humble home studio I lovingly and thoughtfully create my paintings and creations. From the size of the canvas to the various pigments used, everything is made to be unique and has its own story.

You'll often find me hovered over my work tables late into the evening. The only sounds you'll hear are the beats of soft jazz on my speakers. Or more enjoyable still, the sound of sweet, sweet silence as my children sleep after a long day. There will be paint and resin in my hair, on my face, imbedded into my skin as if I myself were a painting. Messy and chaotic but it’s how I create and I love it!

My pieces make me happy when I create them, when I see them. I hope they make you just as happy when they make their way into your universe.
